Come support ultimate at the high school level! The two top-ranked high school teams in the city are playing when Bexley (Scooberheads) and St Charles (SC Mannschaft) meet at St. Charles High School's football field on Wednesday, May 2, at 8 PM.
Both teams are undefeated with one week left of the season after going to the state tournament last year ranked 5th and 6th, respectively. Both teams have gotten better over the past year and this game is huge.
Everyone who loves ultimate, please come out to this game to support Columbus youth ultimate. You could also watch it live on the internet which will be posted on the St. Charles Ultimate facebook group.
See you at the game!
Hi All,
There will be a goaltimate hat tournament on March 18th at 1:30 at the Park of Roses. Hardware will be awarded to the winning team. All levels of players are welcome. For those who haven't played goaltimate before, it is a "half-court" version of ultimate where points are scored by throwing the disc through an arch into a smaller end zone. For more info, you can check out the wikipedia page for goaltimate. For more information, contact Rob Martin via eatplastic -at- yahoo -dot- com.
CUDA’s Youth League is successful because of volunteers who coach teams and teach the next generation how to play. We are currently looking for coaches for an all Dublin High School team, Bishop Hartley High School, and Columbus Alternative High School. Your responsibilities would be to attend 1-2 practices each week. Teams play one game a week and the season runs from 3/27 to 5/20. You will also need to pass a background check. If you are interested or know someone who you think would be a good coach, please email Bob McSheffrey at
Registration for Spring League 2012 is now open and slots are filling quickly to compete for the famous Silver Doggie Bowl. Running from March 24th to May 5, Spring League is a delightful way to spend your spring Saturday afternoons. Games start at noon but the fun begins beforehand with brunch.
Cost is $25 a person and players must be 18 or older. Like all CUDA leagues, you sign up individually and are drafted onto a team. This year, there will be six teams and you will play two games each Saturday. A spirited but competitive league with 4 hours of intense play each Saturday, the skill level in Spring League is at or above that of Wednesday Night Summer League. As it is a league for experienced players, no teaching instruction is provided and past Ultimate experience in an organized setting is a must.
To register, please visit the Spring League page. If you have any questions, email us at
CUDA,
The men and women of Leadbelly and Fever would like to invite you to our fundraiser. In a joint effort with the Columbus Blue Jackets we are working to raise money for our programs. As you may or may not know, OSU provides very little assistance to our club teams as we travel the country, sleeping 10+ to a hotel room and driving countless miles on our own vehicles so that we can play at the highest possible level. Both teams have their sights set on Nationals, but the journey is expensive. That's where our friends in the Columbus ultimate community come in. Our programs are selling tickets to the Red Wings vs. Blue Jackets hockey game on Feb. 28th (at 7pm). The more we sell, the more profit we make. The opportunity exists for each program to make well over $1000, which will help us significantly. If you like hockey or would like to support our team, please give this a shot. Attached is a flyer and order form. If you like you can fill out the order form and send it to either Cassie or Kevin, or to make it even easier you can just send them the necessary order information. What is even easier is just calling Keith Raynor, who works for the Blue Jackets and is a contributing member of the ultimate community here in Columbus, at the number listed on the order form and just telling him you want to buy tickets through us.
Thanks in advance for your support.
The Columbus Cranes are one of the original eight teams that will play in the 2012 inaugural season of the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL). The Cranes are proud to be one of the newest editions to the rich sports heritage of the city of Columbus, OH.
The Cranes will host the AUDL’S inaugural game against the Indianapolis Alley Cats on April 14, 2012 at 5:45pm and will play their first season in the 5,000 seat stadium of Westerville Central High School.
“Columbus has a very strong Ultimate community at the club, collegiate and even high school levels, we are extremely excited to be a part of bringing the sport to the city at the professional level” said Michael Moses, owner of the Cranes. “It is our mission to give the city of Columbus a new, affordable and exciting one of a kind sporting experience, while maintaining the integrity of the sport that millions of players have grown to love worldwide”.
“Everybody involved with the league is very excited to bring this great sport to the next level”, AUDL founder Josh Moore said. “This has been one of the fastest growing sports for participants in America.
